All the staff working for County Durham EMS are registered Paramedics and work also for the Ambulance Service and NHS Trusts.

Our MD Paul is also working with them providing Urgent and 999 duties in the Durham and Darlington area.

Fresh is pleased to announce the addition of a new course date for the Ofsted recommended Paediatric First Aid Course.

The course is designed for all those working with foundation aged children in schools, nursery and childminding.

The dates are 29th and 30th June 2011 at Hadrian School in Newcastle.

On Friday Paul headed out on to the road for County Durham EMS to get some on the road experience back under his belt. He and fellow Paramedic Mark were based at Bishop Auckland Urgent Care Centre, and were responsible for taking patients requiring extra care to the surrounding hospitals.

“It was nice to be back in the uniform again,” Paul commented.

“Aside from just teaching people, it is always good to get out and deal with real patients, so that when we go in to the classroom we can continue to teach from a real perspective.”

“The day was pretty good, no real big issues to deal with, a couple of heart problems and a 3 year old with appendicitis, which was great as it was Friday 13th and we were all a little worried as to how the day would pan out!!!”

Paul heads back out again on the 29th so look out for more postings from jobs he does that day!

As you may be aware Paul looks after the Northumberland Under 15 Cricket squad and he has just recently passed his latest awards which will allow him to embark on his coveted Level 3.
