Requalification courses covering first aid at work should last at least 12 contact hours. Candidates need to possess a valid First Aid at Work certificate to attend. On completion of the course successful candidates should be competent in emergency first aid and should be able to:

• assess the situation in an emergency;
• demonstrate how to administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure;
• demonstrate how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
• demonstrate how to administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock.
• candidates will receive any updated information available since their previous course.
• on completion candidates will be qualified for a further 3 years.
